Utopia/Dystopia

Animal Farm by George Orwell is a historical commentary on government and also a warning to future generations. This is a typical theme in most utopian/dystopian literature. What current world, national or local events do you think would make good utopian/dystopian literature? Explain.

Persuasion/Propaganda

Discuss some methods people have for persuading others to follow particular rules of behavior.  Consider ways in which this persuasion relies on bias and manipulation of information.

Welcome 7th Graders!

Many of you are familiar with my website and blogging.  If you are not-PLEASE ASK FOR HELP!  It is very easy once you have given it a try.  We will be using this blog for "discussions" of important topics throughout Animal Farm and the rest of the Utopia unit.  You will be blogging ON YOUR OWN TIME.    Your first blog question is:
