Welcome 7th Graders!

Many of you are familiar with my website and blogging.  If you are not-PLEASE ASK FOR HELP!  It is very easy once you have given it a try.  We will be using this blog for "discussions" of important topics throughout Animal Farm and the rest of the Utopia unit.  You will be blogging ON YOUR OWN TIME.    Your first blog question is:
Why do you think revolutions occur?  What circumstances would lead people to overthrow the daily political and economical structure of their lives?

I think revolutions happen because people don't like what their leaders are doing. some things that might cause that is slavery, taxes, and comunism

I believe revolutions happens because of corrupt leaders, systems and governments. The corruptness encourages people to rise up, take a stand and fix the problems at hand.

Matt M.

( I don't believe Bailey's comment is an answer to the question)

I believe revolutions happen because of strict leaders who will not listen to what the people say. The only way to get yourself heard with those leaders is to do something big, and a revolution is something big.

-Jared F

(Bailey's could've posted what she THOUGHT the question meant. That answer doesn't work.)

revolutions happen when a leader becomes power hungry or doesn't pay attention to the people

Hi Mrs. Sorenson and 7th Graders!

I'm really interested to read your replies to this question. Maybe you could tap into your memory of 5th grade Discover to help you formulate this answer. Remember our simulation and studying the Declaration of Independence?

I'll be checking back to read what you have to say. By the way, CVE and OHE students... I MISS YOU!!! :) Mrs. McHugh

I believe that there are many different reasons for revolutions. But over all the leader is doing something that is not liked by a majority of the citizens. When the people try to change something, and the leader doesn't listen, this is when they start to turn against them, and try to overthrow them.

Revolutions happen when people are angry. Angry people can get very mad. Sometimes, in communist countries, rich people have to share their money. Rich people don't like to share their money. Other people might revolt if they are poor and don't get enough money as they need. Then they get super mega ultra mad. And hungry, and homeless, and jobless, and super angrily mad.

P.S. To Bailey, the question is the words in red that have a question mark at the end. Welcome 7th graders! wasn't the question.

I think revolution happens because humans dont like what there bosses are doing. Somethings that might cause that is taxes, poor and rich people.

Revolutions occur to strengthen a government and to change the type of economy. People would overthrow their government if the governments structure is faulty and doesn't work.

Zach B.

(Bailey if you didn't understand the question ou should have waited for the next day and ask your teacher what it meant. But the question was in read you should've noticed that)

I think revolutions happen because the leader makes the people unhappy or a new leader presents a idea thats better then the current leaders. The leader might also stop helping the general public and start only thinking about them selves.

Bailey needs to comment again

I think revolutions happen because people don't agree with their government or what their leaders are doing. Also some leaders will not listen to what other people are saying so that could also be the cause of a revolution. A couple of things that would make people overthrow their political and economical structure of their lives include money, governent, taxes, slavery, wealth, people without homes, etc.

I think revolutions occur because people don't like the decisions the government is making. The decisions of the government my affect people in a negative way and that is unfair to them because other people are doing that to them. Some things that may lead people to overthrow the daily political and economical structure of their lives could be taxes, job loses, slavery and leaders of our country decisions.

I think revolution happens because a leader thinks to much of himself and not about others. When a leader does this the other people often will not agree with what that leader is doing. This may occur when people try to leaders try to change dramatically what is happening. This may result in job lose of some people, taxes, money, economical structres may be not trusting their contries leader or goverment.

I think people revolt because of their leaders actions, like the Czar of Russia made the unhealthy choice of going into World War I when the Country was already poor. With this choice the people who were poor became poorer. This made people possibly angry, and this poverty that poor people had would drive them to revolt seeking a better ruler that will provide them with the resources to make them happy. That's why communism was introduced so everyone had equal wealth. That would be a reason people followed this so they wouldn't have to live a hard life anymore.

I think revoultions happen when the leader does or says something that makes a group of people mad and they decide to stand up for what they believe in and take action.

First of all bailey really NEEDS to post a new comment or just say somethin funny like "I think Britany spears did it" or "waa wo wa wo waaa"

Maybe because... people don't like the government, and they get mad, and rebel. Classic star wars... sort of. And they would be mad because the government makes bad choices, or is corrupt,or is possibly just a bunch of morons who don't even know what a government IS. ummm... I didn't say that...

I think revolution occurs and people overthrow their leader because he is making bad decisions or someone is turning and plotting to overthrow him. I think it happens when someone wants to have power and makes everyone think their leader is bad and horrible. In a revolution there is usually someone who is plotting everything.

I think Revolutions happen because people are upset with the government and laws that are made or the want a new type of government. thing that might help a revolution is if the country is poor and failing. Also they might just not like the ruler.-Isaac B.

I think a revolution occurs because there becomes problems and disagrements between the goverment and the people. It may also be because of a leader who will not allow people to say what they think. And usually the people don't agree with these actions by the leader.

I think revolution occurs by 2 or more sides or teams don't agree w/ each other. Therefore causes an argument and then it's like the snowball effect just keeps getting worse and worse until.......BAMMMMMM...... a revolution occurs.

I think that revolutions occur because the government doesn't have a strong enough system to hold it down. What circumstances would lead people to overthrow the structure of their lives:If people are very passionate about something and they truly think it is right.

Revolutions occur because the citizens of a country don't like what their leaders are doing. If the country is falling apart because the current type of government is not working there may be a revolt. Sometimes there are lesser causes for revolt, like high taxes or a secret army like the red army. -Nathaniel A.

I believe that revolutions occur because of weekness or too much strength in a government system. People often seek such change in thier structure because they either think the current system is currupt and has many faults or believe a different system would work better. Some things that might proveke rebelion are taxes, lack of freedom, other restrictions, and undisired/uneeded war

I personally think that revolutions occur when a new idea comes in and the people in control use it and some people are all for it while some people don't like it so much so they take sides and revolt. Also some things that might make this occur is wealth, unemployment or hunger (communism in the big picture). -Chris N. :)

I think revolutions occur because those who are in power corrupt and citizens want to change the way things are being done. People may decide to revolt because leaders make a poor decision that makes them feel unsafe or angry at the way the decision is being executed.

i think revolutions happen when the voernment don't agree with one another, but the government is so focused on this problem that they are not caring for the people. And also, people in power are usually rich, while many of the common people are in starvation. And since there are more people in poverty than rich people, the poor people get mad and this leads to a revolution.

Revolution occurs when many people disagree with the government. This may also occur when a leader stops to think about what is best for the country and is just in it for his own selfishness. A couple of situations that a revolution might happen in is job loss, loss of freedom, money, slavery, etc.

I think revolutions occur when the government or leaders aren't doing what the citizens are enjoying. Also, a revolution may occur if the government makes Laws or rules that the people of the country may not agree with and may become angry. Some other reasons on how the people of their country overthrow the government is because of what they are doing or dealing with. They may be dealing with people without homes, taxes, slavery, starvation, and many other reasons. This is what I think about how revolutions occur in countries.

I think that revolutions happen because they don't like the things that their leaders are doing to "help" the country. They might be raising taxes or being communists. They want a change in the country so they revolt against the government and their leaders.

I think that revolutions happen when a group of people disagree with the government. I also think that they happen because the government made a decision that wouldn't make some of the people in their country very happy. The people who are in a revolution may join the revolution because they have the same opinion as all the rest of the people who are leading the revolt. Like in the Russian Revolution the wealthy did not want to give up their money and that lead to a revolution.

I think revolution occurs when people disagree or don't like what the government is doing. Some reasons people might try or do overthrow the goverment because of whats going on in the country and they don't like it.Some common causes or revolutions are taxes or slavery,no freedom or not enough either.

I think revolutions happen because the people disagree what the government or the leader(s) are saying/doing and they get frusterated so they take action. It may happen when there are people that are poor and people that are rich. When the people are trying to speak their minds and the gov. doesn't approve/accept them.

I think that revolutions happen when people get mistreated (or think they're being mistreated) by the goverment. They can can take over with speeches, wars,or even technology. They also think life would be better if they were in control.

I think revolutions occur because the government tries 2 take too much control over every thing. Also i think that in their daily lives people in that country get worse and worse lives when the government makesstupid laws that restrict people from doing stuff thet they used to be able to do and enjoied.

i think they accure because someone who doesn't like the way the country they live in is ruled or what the laws are make a speech to a crowd and then people end up agreeing with it and soon more and more people try to get a new ruler for their country

-Natalie hamley

I beilieve a revoloution happens when the people are not content with their leaders work and way of ruling and they decide it is enough and time for it to end. Some reasons this could happen are poverty, rules not to their liking, thoughts much different than the governement, and other reasons involving why they would disslike the current system.

I think revolutions occur because people disagree with their leaders and have their own ideas, some that are against others' ideas. They could be led to overthrow their leaders if they, the leaders, had started something that many people dislike, such as taxes, slavery, unfairness, and wars.

-Lauren Nguyen (:

Revolutions occur when people don't believe in there government. Lots of times the government is unstable. With poor economic health and many wars going on people feel compelled to believe lots of things. Thus a rebellion.

Matt H.

I think that there are a lot of different reasons for revolutions, but the main reason there are all those problems that lead up to a revolution is because of an overpowering leader that doesn't listen to what the citizens have to say, and makes the countries choices, his own choices. To the citizens, the only way they can get rid of this overpowering leader is to over power him. In other words, a rebellion.

I belive revolutions occur becasue there is some kind of problem in the world. Over a period of time it starts to build up and people start to get angrier. THen they just kinda explode and a revolution happens. They also can happen when their goverments/leaders are corrupt and they are'nt doing what the people want but what THEY want -Mikayla L.

I think revolutions start by leaders who have different ideas and the ideas start wars

I think revolutions occur because government is never perfect. Revolutions mainly happen during bad times as results of very controversial, such as slavery, communism, etc., or as a result of a failing government. The government may fail as in economically, or jut have one person who is corrupted with power.

I believe that revolutions occur because people disagree with the leader or rulers thoughts or actions. Circumstances could be that they just strongly disgree with what is happening within the government. Such as the government not listening to the oppinions of the people on taxes, bills and other things.

-Rachel M.

I think it revolutons start because of terrible government/leaders. It starts the people to question the leaders and start to disagree with the government. Which starts revolts/revolutions.

I think revolutions are caused by ideas stated by others that life would be better by being ruled by another person or party. But because usually it isn't unanimous there will be a lot of fight to regain or start rule over the location
