Most persuation methods are best used against the weak minded. One of the best is to just deny everything and use a great speaker to persuade people just the opposite.
People use techniques such to scare or to use the bandwagon technique.B using these techniques they can manipulate your opinions and bias through false statements so there reasoning is reasonable to you.

PS. Good job Bailey. You answered the comment. It's hard to understand so make it clearer next time.
i think a lot of time the speaker will try 2 scare the listeners into what they beleve. or they make it look like an unreistable offer by showing only the best examples if they are showing a product like acne cream or leg shavers.but if u r trying 2 get them 2 join sides they ussually talk about bad things about the oppposing side like in presidental races
A person trying persuade someone by being bias usually talk about how good his/her side is. A person using manipulation to persuade someone talks about how bad the side they oppose is and how his/her side is better. The difference between these two is that if you are bias, you believe in your cause. If you use manipulation you are just trying to us the people. -Nathaniel A.
A person who tries to persuade you into something can either be bias or manipulation. If you are biased you think highly of what you have and you may talk about how good he/she is. Being manipulaton is saying the opposite of bias and saying how bad he/ she is. You may persuade use persuation against younger or weaker people than you. Also, people may persuade you on buying something from a store so they can get money off of it. Lastly, persuasion is used when you want to get your way in something. You may try hard to do something, so you may have to do chores or a favor for another person. This is my opinion on persuasion.
Someone who is bias truly believes by heart what they are trying to get someone to believe. Someone who tries to manipulate only cares that their side is better than another side.

some persuasion techniques are bribing, exagerating, getting someone famous to talk about it and say it works really well for them and bandwagon. Kendall H.
I think one technique that is used is to make the other product person or idea look really bad. Or they can do things such as make the actual thing look way better then it actually is. When people do this it can change what you think about a certain thing.
One technique many people use to persuade others is exaggeration. They make their ideas sound much better than the opposing side's idea(s). They also might use propaganda, and make false statements against the opposing side. If you are talking about persuasion to buy a product though, that is different. Yes, exaggeration is most likely used, but also used are methods such as bandwagon.
People persuade in a number of ways. They can use exageration to make things sound better than they actually are. When a person is using bias they often talk about how good their product is and how well it will work for you but they dont really focus on the negative things. If someone is using minipulation they usually focus on the negative things of someones elses product and how much better theirs is. Also some other techniques are bribary, bandwagon, and sometimes people use famous people to promote a product.
if you tell somone they will get rewards (like better job placement, money, better lifestyle, etc... they might want to follow rules or other things you could also threaten wich will cause them to be afraid this has a bias because they dont have as much of a choice and for the first one youre promisses might not follow through
One way used to persuade someone is to be a great speaker, so that everyone is so captivated by the way you spoke they don't even consider the opposition. They manipulate the way you are thinking by the way they use there words.
people can convince the others that it will be better this way or that this way is the right thing to do. Sometimes if they are less educated people will take advantige of that to. Josh K
Persuation has many techniques such as exaggeration, fear, and using things against people who arent the sharpest tool in the shed. Manipulating is when you know stuff about someone that you can use to get your way. For example in the book Animal Farm, Napolian uses boxer to get the other animals to get his way. ~ Claire D
Convincing people through propaganda though often matering between who it is and what you're trying to convince them is usualy a skill that gets better with practiece. Through reasearch a person may be able to understand propaganda, but for it to work often takes practiec and precision.
I think that some techniques are: people will exagerate, and also a lot of times the speaker will have a famous person that is using the product or something and they say that it works well for them. Sometimes they also make them think they are right, and they use the bandwagon technique sometimes too. Someone who is biased really believes what they are trying to make someone believe. Manipulatating is kind of like, they only want their group to be better then any others. Kristine R.
I agree with Thomas C. in that persuasive methods are best used against the weak minded. People use propaganda and persuasion techniques against the uninformed. They will believe that something is a good product just because someone tells them that it is. Brenna S.
Some different ways people persuade are to bribe with a better life, or threaten with a worse life. The Uneducated will believe anything the persuader says because they are not aware of what goes on around them and can not know whether the statement is legit.
People use many persuasive methods to convince people things. One way is that they will exagerate what they are talking about. Another thing they will do is they will focus on all the positive thing not any of the negatives. Lastly they might use false statements about the opposing side and talk about there negatives not positives.
People persuade others in several ways. For exampe they might exaggerate to make something sound better than it is or they can use a bandwagon technique in which they say that everyone else is doing it so you should too. if you are bias you only talk about the good things and leave the negative or bad things out. And if you are manipulative you try to make a deal or "bribe" the people you are trying to persuade to them to be on your side. this way the people feel like they are getting ehat they want too. And thats my opinion on persuasion. -Rachel M.
propaganda is the way companies try to convince you to buy there product sometimes with a song like the 'five dollar foot-long' song. they say stuff that makes you want to buy the product. also sometimes your friends say that something is so good or cool that makes you want to get it or try it.
People will say it's better for the people or they will get something in return. They will say the bad things about the other person in presidential races. Most of them will try to persuade the young or weak minded.
Do any of you remember the engraving that Paul Revere created of the Boston Massacre? His intent was to rally the masses against England and he printed some untruths about the event in order to sway the public. Even his use of the word "massacre was deceptive. Is that propaganda?
People will tell you all the things your missing out on, try to scare you, tell you everyone is doing it (bandwagon), and if it is a product or something they will make it look amazing in an ad or use testimonial by using a famous person to use their product. Keegan S.
People persuade other people by telling them how great it could be if they did this. Also by scaring them into it. This could be done by saying everyone is doing it so u should too or using a famous person to convince people. If you are bias, you are in favor of one side. Manipulation is guilting somebody into something.
People lie and try to make people believe something to make them buy a product or put a liked celebrity in the product so they will think, if they use it then it must be great. Also that people might make the people always smile in it so they thinks it great and buy it.
I think that fear is the no. 1 most controlling persuasive technique, though I find it hard to call it persuasion. More like persuasion by force. Anyway, this technique is generally used by those who took control by force, like Napoleon in Animal Farm. It doesn't really use bias, but fear is our greatest weakness in some cases, and many will (like the chickens) take blame just to protect those they care about. Face it, we're driven by fear. Justin H
There are MANY different ways. Some people will convince you that EVERYONE is doing it and that you should do it too. (Bandwagon!) Others will get famous or inspiring people to help them convince that whatever they are persuading is what's best for the people. And they threaten them and then they feel scared and usually go along with whatever the person is talking about. There's also blaming and exaggerating. Many are getting blamed because people want to make themselves look better, and people are exaggerating the truth. A LOT.
People will use propoganda by saying that Michael Jordan eats whatever cereal and then people think that cereal makes them Micheal Jacksony, if that's even a word. And it says that you stay focused with FMW(Frosted Mini Wheats) which is actually true if you just eat breakfast, but they advertise it.
p.s. Jared F., is bias a good thing? p.p.s. Mister Matt M. needs to stop being mean to Bailey. CYBERBULLYING IS BAD!!!!!
some people use good speakers against people because they can have an effect on people that makes them believe whatever the speaker wants them to. people have a way of manipulating people's minds so that they think whatever the person is saying is true. that makes the person no longer unbiased.
Many things/techniques are used to manipulate/brainwash your opinions. One of these stratigies is to scare the person listining such as the dogs did in the book animal farm.Another one is a sure sign of a good speaker being able to bend the truth to make something horrible seem aok.
When people try to persuade people to do something they want them to, they can do things such as say that it will be all better, and put out an image of life(or whatever you are talking about) being perfect. Some other ways of propaganda are scapegoat/namecalling, glittered generalizations, and fear. People like to blame someone for everything that happens, both good and bad. But people tend to like to blame themselves for something good. By using glittered generalizations people use big words or talk fancy so that others may be confused and think that they are automatically right. And when using fear, it is almost like a threat. No propaganda is 100% honest. There is always one side it is leaning to, and sometimes in order to get people to join your side or cause you have to give them a better story, and stretch the truth. -Alyssa E. :)
People use many methods that make people go your way is to scare them in to your way but sometimes they ly a lot and make things a lot better if you went there way they also say others like you going to go that side. Isaac b.
People will make things sound better than they actually are to get people to believe them. Also they will use people that are inspiring to go along with them. You can also get people scared to make them find the easiest answer to their problem.
Some methods of propaganda are bandwagon, name calling or, testimonials.Bandwagon is used to make people think that one side is more popular or better so people will want to do what's more popular.Name calling is used to bring negative impact on someone or something to make the other side look bad.Testimonials are where an object or whatever is being connected to a well liked or respected person in some way to make people think if someone they respect is using it then they should too. Propaganda relies on manipulation of information so it can make it sound really good and help convince people to use or buy the product or idea. Chris N. :]
Some people stretch the truth and blame others for things that are happening and that they could solve those problems. If they don't manipulate information people could use the information against them and get others to dislike them. NatalieH.
people will think of all sorts of ways to persude others. They may use techniques such as scaring them, telling them only the good things abouit and many others. One commonly used technique is bandwagon. This is not commonly used by a ruler but an advertisser.Ruler will often strech the truth along with advertissers but they do it much more secretly. the rulers will also try to scare or brain wash the people into doing what they wnat and nothing else. This relies on bias and manipulation because in order to do any of these things you must be very good at these things.
A way to persuede someone could be exaggeration, using someone that is in the media to speak about it, people could bribe, and bandwagon. They could also focus on the pros and not the cons about something. These are all ways of persuasion.
one propaganda skill is exaggeration. it makes everything seem more better than it is. this skill relies on manipulation of information because the people manipulate to sound better than it actually is.
Some people have tried to persuade you out of fear. Others have tried using persuasive speech. Also in commercials, people will say all of the good things about the product, and not some of the bad things. I think people try to use this method to trick people into thinking there product is a good investment.
I think people persuade others by usually propaganda. Like posters, speechees, and painting a picture in their minds of what it will be like after the "event" takes place. Fear is sometimes involved too.
I am a mom, a wife and a teacher and I love it all! I am a little weird because I really LIKE Middle Schoolers! I love to read the books that my students read and I love to talk to them about their reading. If I couldn't be a teacher, I might be a backup singer and dancer for Aerosmith (but I can't sing one bit!)
