Change

Which of the short stories/poems that we have read so far do you think fits the generalizations about change the best and why?

I think it was the Translators Son because there was a lot of feeling about culture and race. The feeling of not liking your culture would be horrid.

I think it was Translators Son because it talked mostly about like his race, heritage, and culture. His grandfather didn't want him to know that he was indian and not french becuase the grandfather thought that people would make fun of his grandchild because of his race.

I think that the story ALL SUMMER IN A DAY would fit best in the change category because morgot had to deal with the change of moving to venus then possibly moving back and maybe becoming friends or the worst of enimies with the other children.

I think "All Summer in a Day" showed lots of change. First, the sun came out for the first time in seven years! Also, I think the kids' feelings for Margot changed because she was right about the sun and they felt sorry for what they did to her.

I think "All Summer in a Day" had the most change because the kids regreted locking Morgot in the closet. Morgot changed too by being terribly sad because she missed the only sunshine she had seen in 7 years.

I think it was the translators son because it really talked about the changes in the author from childhood to adulthood.it also talked about his culture and race and how knowing hed was an indian changed him even more.

I think the story that best fits the generalizations about change is Ghost Cat because it had many different changes and really gives me the over all understanding of change.

I think that it was "All Summer in a Day" because it shows that with not enough change change, or too much of the same thing, could result in what Margot's life was like, especially when she missed the sun which probably made her life worse when all her schoolwork is about the sun.

I think the stroy that best represents change is All Summer in a Day because the kids on Jupiter strongly disliked Margot because they were jealous that she got to go back to earth were it ws sunny almost all the time. In Jupiter they got sun once every 7 years. Locking Margot in the closet apparently lightened them up!!! She had to miss the sunshine while everyone else was busy enjoying it! They finally remembered that she was locked up and acctually let her out..

I think that "all summer in a day" has the most change because Margot gets to go back to earth were it is sunny. The other kids are jealous that Margret is going to earth so they bully her to make them self feel better.

I think "Ghost Cat" because it showed that Jodi was trying to deal with her fathers death personally even if the cat was real or not. It was also alot about belief and that you can believe in anything you want to and that no one will judge you than really looking at you in your most natural personality.

I think it was all summer in a day because she had lived on Earth for a while and then she had moved to Venus. She had to move from nice sunny earth to gloomy, rainy venus. Also, the kids were going to maybe be nice to her.

I think "All Summer In A Day" because with margot living on the earth for 4 years where it was sunny and had different weather every day but then moving to venus and experienceing rain for the rest of her life was a change. Also how before they had pushed her in a closet they were very mean and snotty at her then after they had made her miss the only ray of light for 7 years so then the kids felt pitty for her and started acting nicer so she would forgive them. A change that was most likely to happen in the story could have been her moving back to earth

I think that the story with the most change was All Summer in a Day, because the lives of the children in the story changed as they saw the sun for the first time, and it will make them look forward to seven years from then.

I think that all summer in a day best fits change because it changes in ways of weather and emotion. In ways of weather, the sun finally came out! In ways of emotion they probaly wouldn't pick on Margot any more because they forgot her in the cupboard and now felt remorse.

I think "All Summer In A Day" shows the most change. It shows the most change because Morgot was the kid that was always being picked on and after her abuse some of the kids might of felt bad so they tried to be her friend. That sounded like a huge change to me.

I think "All Summer in a Day" is most in the change category because Margot had to get used to living on Venus . She also had to get used to living with the other children, but they will probably be nicer to her now. Anyway she is going home in one year.

I think it was Translators Son because the story was about his culture and how his grandfather wanted Joseph Bruchac not to know that he was indian, and as joseph got older he became proud of his culture. Since he found out about his indian heritage, he did more to learn about it, and follow it somewhat.

I think it was "All Summer in a Day" because Morgot had to deal with the change of moving to Venus, not getting to see the sun for 1 hour (because the children were so mean and locked her in a closet), and she may even go back to Earth and never see those cruel children ever again.

I think All Summer in a Day because Margot has to live with all the new changes of being on a different planet. This story also shows change because the kids don't like Margot until they see that she was right about the sun and feel sorry for locking her in a closet.

I think that the story with the most change was "All Summer In A Day" because you could just imagine missing the sun while everyone else is having fun in it and knowing tht the kids probably left you in there because you already had four years of sun and might get to go back to earth in a year! It would be simply terrible\

I think that "All Summer in a Day" had the most change because of the change in the weather and how everyone was just very gloomy and dreary and when the sun came out everyone was so happy.
